Custom Card Idea

I couldn't resist blogging about this great idea from angry chicken... Custom cards with the quotes of your children. It's awesome! And I love the simple and straighforward type treatments that anyone can do. No fear, no procrastination. Write down those quotes on a post-it and collect them on paper in an hour.

Laptop Decals

Here is an updated photo of the Margot Madison Stationery custom laptop decals, which have been the hot sellers this week. It's updated because I'm showing how great it looks ON the laptop. They make great graduation gifts and also great teacher gifts! Starting at $24 each.

Sweet Birds

I have a bird fetish. They are such sweet little things. My friend/customer Vanessa Sorenson pointed me toward Jenine's blog which had such a darling little custom bird stamp. Also check out her bird series that she created for her living room! Amazing.

March Store Window Design

Despite a gallant effort by my window designer Valerie, the last window we did was creative but unfinished. SOMEBODY (Margot) was supposed to enlarge some invitations to finish it off but never got around to it. My bad ;o)

But anyone who knows me and my non-stop creative forward movement, would not be surprised that I have not looked back. Lindsay and I brainstormed and had a new concept in motion lickety-split. I owe the finishing of this to Lindsay's determination to have it done before she leaves on a much deserved vacation this week.

These photos show the process: We ordered feather butterflies in 4" and 1" sizes in bright colors. Lindsay cut the chicken wire to make the sweeping design carry through both windows. Then she attached the butterflies to the chicken wire (all migrating in the same direction!). We hung the display using thin picture wire to a dowel we have spanning the distance of our window and stapled the sides to the walls. Then we applied the custom decals to the window glass and tied the invitation samples to the chicken wire using more thin wire (adhesives melt in our window).

Jack and Izzy

I just have to boast for my previous employee and much missed friend Sarah. She worked with me at the retail store for an all-too-brief year before leaving to have her baby boy Jack. Sarah was a HUGE help in getting my wholesale line of Margot Madison U-Pick Clipboards and notecards up and running and has always been a source of support and enthusiasm. She stopped by a week ago and told me about her etsy store Jack and Izzy, which is amazing! Sarah has a clean, simple and elegant style with a penchant for the finishing details, as shown here in her party packs. And even though I am perfectly capable of doing this myself for my children's birthdays, I just want to buy hers! Brilliant! Thank you Sarah, for inspiring me! Congratulations and best of luck on everything!

Teacher's Gifts

This is one of our favorite gifts for teachers! It's a U-Pick Clipboard that can be personalized with school or team colors (pick 2 from the palette) and a name. It's a favorite because it can be given to male or female teachers alike and it always seems to come in handy. Clip papers together, organize stuff and hang the clipboard on the wall so you don't forget, they are also great for field trips! Of course they are available at Margot Madison Stationery retail store and on our on-line store. Turn-around time is about a week plus shipping, if needed. Large clipboards are $32 and small are $24.

Les Fleurs

My sister-in-law is a french woman with a passion for anything fabulous. She has impeccable taste and is always telling me about this "amazing" product or idea or store that I just have to see. I find it refreshing to see designs from other countries and the web makes it so much easier to do this. One of her recommendations is this store called "Les Fleures". Those little blue clogs, the bunny biting it's own toes and the hands in pockets make such sweet details. Delightful, n'est pas?

Flannery's Graduation Annoucement

I created this for my favorite senior. I can't believe that I've known her since she was 10! The photos show her spunky spirit that has lasted from childhood and is now sending her into the next phase of her life. Ahhh, the college years...

This is available to be ordered from my on-line store as well as from the Margot Madison Stationery retail store in O'Bryonville (Cincinnati) Ohio. Price for 50 qty is $112.50, with each additional card (any quantity) $1.75. You can change the colors of the card to match your graduate's new spirit colors.
